Qualifications:
5 or more years of relevant experience, with an emphasis on real estate capital markets, investor relations, development activities, and strategic planning
Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and/or CPA preferred
Must demonstrate familiarity with loan agreements, letters of intent, operating agreements, and other documents associated with development activities
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel required
Excellent verbal/written communication skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
Experience with Yardi, or similar property management software and QuickBooks, is preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the acquisition and development teams on all capital market activities, including securing initial financing and equity, recapitalizing projects, and assisting with the acquisition and disposition of development projects. This involves meeting potential capital sources, reviewing documents, participating in negotiations, and preparing financial models
Stay informed on capital sources, structures, and instruments to ensure strategic alignment
Oversee compliance with loan and operating agreements
Monitor cash flow and manage the 90-day cash needs projection to ensure financial stability
Prepare and present investment summaries and analyses for potential opportunities
Manage capital calls and construction loan draws as needed
Prepare and distribute regular investor and lender reports to ensure transparency and communication
Oversee property and asset management teams to ensure timely budgets, reporting, cash projections and distributions until properties reach stabilization
Supervise corporate accounting functions, including annual business plan preparation, budgeting, REO schedules, and cash flow projections.
Coordinate the due diligence process for capital transactions to ensure smooth operations
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for both corporate and project entities
Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting
Foster and maintain key relationships to support the company’s growth and success

We develop experiential commercial, mixed-use, and multifamily properties across the United States. The controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance and accounting activities of the company. The controller will also play a key role within the development team, contributing to all aspects of the company’s development initiatives.
